About Our Club

The Greater Massachusetts UWP Alumni club serves the needs of alumni in the Boston, MA area and alumni throughout the neighboring New England states, as well as alumni who frequently visit the Boston area.

The club provides an informal opportunities for alumni to:

  • Socialize with fellow alumni and friends
  • Network with other alumni and professional contacts
  • Serve the community through various service projects.

The success of the club lies in its simplicity.

There are no fees, no registration, no officers, no elections. With a few informal planning meetings per year, alumni volunteers plan and coordinate the various events. If you would like to be invovled, just say the word! It's that simple!

The current version of our club began on a white-water rafting trip in Colorado at the UWP reunion in 1994. Jen Scully (B89) suggested that we get some of the Boston area alumni together for fun events. Thus the seed for the new version of the club was planted!

Group of Alumni at Beach on Cape Cod In the fall of 1994, our club planned to organize its first event: participation in the City Serve-a-thon! Under the leadership of Lauren Scully (B91 and Jen's sister), the team had a great day completing meaningful service projects in the city of Boston.

With a variety of exciting events since 1994, the Greater Massachusetts Up With People Alumni Club has continued to grow.

Whether you're a new alumn recently off the road, an alumn that has moved into the area, a visiting alumn, or a local alumn who is interested in 'reconnecting' with some GREAT people...we say "Join the Club!"
