Dear supportive Up with People alumni,
Greetings!
Spring has finally come to New England
I can feel it!
I hope you had a chance to meet the WorldSmart February '05 Crew
and get to know more about our new program. They are currently
in Japan, discovering a different part of the world.
On behalf of the participants and staff of Up with People WorldSmart
Leadership Program, I would like to thank you for the role you
played in the success of the New England tour.
This year, we were fortunate to have more than eighty families
volunteer to open their homes and hearts to WorldSmart members
in four cities in New England, and to have various community service
projects: interacting with thousands of local children, working
at a homeless shelter, and visiting a nursing home. And most importantly,
Crew members were thrilled to meet you, share experiences, and
get some insights/tips for the tour!
Without the incredible outpouring of support from hundreds of
Up with People alumni, volunteer host families, communities, and
business leaders, the New England tour would not have been possible.
We are grateful for your commitment as alumni and proud of our
shared success in the tour. If you would like to share any feedback,
please contact Danielle Charest, Program Director, at dcharest@upwithpeople.org.
She can also be reached toll free at 877-264-8856 ext. 107. We
are hoping to bring the WorldSmart Crew to New England sometime
soon, so if you are interested in volunteering again in the planning
process for their visit, please don't hesitate to communicate
with her.
Again, we sincerely appreciate your help and thank you for your
continued support of Up with People WorldSmart Leadership Program.
All the best,
Yoriko Tokuda
